The research topics of the Laboratory on Structure and Properties of Polymers (Prof. M. Evstatiev, Assoc. Prof. E. Vassileva) include: i) Microfibrillar-reinforced polymer composites (MFC) as biodegradable materials; ii) Polymer based drug delivery systems; iii) Polymer scaffolds for tissue regeneration (nanofibers, nanoparticles and hydrogels); iv) Polymer blends, interpenetrating polymer networks, composites and nanocomposites; v) biocompatible and haemocompatible polyzwitterionic materials with ultralow biofouling; vi) polymer reinforced bone and dental cements.
